Oral Histories Stonewall is very pleased to announce it recently received funding from the Sun-Sentinel Diversity Venture Fund for our Speaking Out: The Stonewall Oral History Project.

Participants in the program are members of the LGBT elder community. The individuals we have selected as Oral History Project interviews include, among others, a psychologist, an educator, a businessman, and a female military officer, and are now in their ‘70s, ‘80s and even ‘90s. Their stories have been largely untold, unshared and unknown. This program will not only capture these important eyewitness accounts of history before they disappear, they will also serve to inform, educate and inspire the next generation of our community’s leaders. It is critically important to the development of our community that we capture and make available this quickly disappearing history and preserve it for future generations who often are unaware or undereducated about these important individuals’ contribution to American history.

If you would like to volunteer as an interviewer or as an interview subject, please contact us at info@stonewallnationalmuseum.org or call 954-763-8565.
